Mary Kathryn Miller (Fulton, Ky., Fulton City HS) set career-highs with 21 kills and a .618 hitting percentage to lead the Lady Bucs to a five-set win over Alabama Huntsville Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Lady Bucs (14-12, 9-7 GSC) jumped to an early 11-5 lead in the opening set. They stretched their advantage to 20-13 before UAH (14-12, 7-9) rallied to close within a point at 23-22 and then 24-23 before an attack error gave CBU a 25-23 win in the set.
• UAH took early leads of 3-0, 7-2 and 9-3 in the second set, pulling away to a 25-12 win to knot the match.
• The third set saw the Lady Bucs take a quick 6-3 lead, and they led by as many as six points at 15-9 after a Miller kill, but the Chargers used an eight-point run to take an 18-16 lead and went on to win 27-25.
• CBU again took control early in the fourth set, jumping to an 8-4 edge on a Miller kill. Again, UAH rallied to take the lead, this time at 15-13, and as late as 20-19, but CBU scored six of the last eight points to win 25-22 on back-to-back Miller kills to force a decisive fifth set.
• In the fifth set, CBU used a seven-point run with
Jessica Reber (Byron, Ill./Byron HS) serving to take an 8-1 lead. CBU led by as many as nine points, at 11-2 on another Miller kill, before holding on to win 15-7 to clinch the match.
KEY STATS:
• Miller hit .618 with 21 kills and no errors in 34 totall attempts. She added six blocks, three digs and a pair of assists. Her 24.0 points, 21 kills, 34 attempts and .618 attack percentage were all career-highs.

Emma Lenoir (Chattanooga, Tenn./East Hamilton HS) added 15 kills, eight digs and three aces.
• Reber had 56 assists with 13 digs, four blocks and three aces, two of which came during the seven-point run early in the fifth set.

Mollie Wadsworth (Hernando, Miss./Northpoint Christian HS) added 12 kills with two digs and two blocks.

Blythe Clausen (Hendersonvile, Tenn./Pope John Paul II HS) notched a team-high 15 digs.
• Alexa Henderson added 13 digs and two assists.
•
Marisa Wong (Germantown, Tenn./Houston HS) garnered 10 digs.
WHAT'S NEXT:
The Lady Bucs hit the road for their final regular season road trip next weekend. They visit Valdosta State Friday at 6 p.m. and West Florida Saturday at 1 p.m. Their next home match is Friday, Nov. 11, when they host Wet Alabama at 7 p.m.
