MEMPHIS-The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs split a pair of matches Tuesday, sweeping Central Baptist in three sets before dropping a five-set heartbreaker to Arkansas-Monticello in the final match of a trimatch.

WHAT HAPPENED:
The Lady Bucs hit .400, the seventh-best mark in a match in school history, as they rolled to a three-set victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• CBU (9-6) seized full control of the first set on a nine-point run with
Mollie Wadsworth (Hernando, Miss./Northpoint Christian HS) serving, extending their lead to 15-4 on an ace en route to a 25-11 win.
• In the second set, the Lady Mustangs (3-10) took an early 2-1 lead, but a seven-point run gave CBU an 8-2 lead. After the Lady Mustangs closed within two points at 9-7 and 13-11, a seven-point run with
Marisa Wong (Germantown, Tenn./Houston HS) serving extended the CBU lead to 20-11 on their way to a 25-14 win.
• The Lady Bucs took another early 8-2 lead in the third set, capped by a
Gennah Schoen (Portland, Ore./David Douglas HS) block. They steadily pulled away, winning 25-9.
KEY STATS:
• Wadsworth pounded 12 kills and hit .800 for the match, adding four digs and three aces for 15 points.

Mary Kathryn Miller (Fulton, Ky./Fulton City HS) hit .667 with six kills and two blocks.
•
Emma Lenoir (Chattanooga, Tenn./East Hamilton HS) garnered a team-best seven digs.
•
Jessica Reber (Byron, Ill./Byron HS) dished out 13 assists in the first set.
•
Alexa Henderson (Prairie du Sac, Wis./Sauk Prairie HS) played the second set as setter, racking up 10 assists with five digs.

Anna Graziosi (Lakeland, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) played the third set, with 10 assists, four digs, an ace and a solo block.
Arkansas-Monticello 3, CBU 2
WHAT HAPPENED:
After dropping the first set, the Lady Bucs rallied to take a 2-1 lead, but the visiting Cotton Blossoms won the final two sets to clinch a five-set victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• A back-and-forth first set saw no lead of more than three points. The Lady Bucs held the lead as late as 23-21 on a Miller kill, but the Cotton Blossoms (5-12) scored the final four points to win 25-23.
• The Lady Bucs took a quick 4-0 lead on back-to-back Reber aces in the second set and they never trailed. After UAM came back to tie the set at 11, CBU steadily pulled away to a six-point lead at 20-14, winning the set 25-20.
• In the third set, CBU rallied for three straight three-point runs to turn a 16-15 deficit to a 24-18 lead, eventually winning 25-21 on a Schoen solo block.
• The Cotton Blossoms hit .333 as they took control of a nip-and-tuck fourth set, breaking a 14-all tie with a 7-2 run on their way to a 25-20 win to force a decisive fifth set.
• The Lady Bucs scored the first three points of the fifth set, but UAM answered with eight of the next 10 to take an 8-5 lead they would not relinquish. CBU came within a single point three times, as late as 11-10, but the Cotton Blossoms scored four of the last six points to take a 15-12 win.
KEY STATS:
• Miller pounded a career-high 18 kills, hitting .406 with six blocks and four digs to lead the CBU offense.
• Lenoir tacked on 13 kills with nine digs, five assists and three blocks.

Brinsley Cooper (Rossville, Ind./Rossville HS) hit .500 with 10 kills and a pair of blocks.
• Reber dished out 46 assists with 14 digs, five kills, three aces and three blocks.
•
Blythe Clausen (Hendersonvile, Tenn./Pope John Paul II HS) matched Reber's team-high of 14 digs.
