ROME, Ga.-No. 3 Shorter scored in four of the game's five innings as they claimed an 8-0 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Hawks (6-1, 3-0 GSC) gave starting pitcher Kalei Kimbrell all the run support she would need in the bottom of the first inning with two runs on a walk, a triple and a sacrifice fly.
• Shorter tacked on three more in the second inning, taking advantage of a walk and three singles.
• The Hawks scored one more run in the fourth inning on a pair of singles.
• Shorter ended the game with two more runs in the bottom of the fifth on two singles and an error.

KEY STATS:
• Maddi Welch (Munford, Tenn./Munford HS) went 1-for-2 with a double.
• Blake Andres (Arlington, Tenn./Briarcrest HS) and Olivia Parsels (Germantown, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) each went 1-for-2.
• Holly Oyhenart (Menifee, Calif./Paloma Valley HS) was 1-for-3.
