VALDOSTA, Ga.-No. 6 Valdosta State completed a three-game sweep of the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs with an 11-0 victory Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• The Blazers (12-3-1, 4-2 GSC) gave pitcher Caitlyn Calhoun all the run support she would need in the second inning, when they plated two runs on a homer, a double, an error and a pair of sacrifice bunts.
• VSU added four runs in the bottom of the fourth on a hit batter, two walks, a sacrifice fly, a single and a double.
• The Blazers ended it in the bottom of the fifth when two singles and a walk set the stage for a Kiley Rusen grand slam.
KEY STATS:•
Alexis Seward (Chino, Calif./Chino HS) went 1-for-2 against Calhoun, who shut CBU out on two hits with one walk and four strikeouts.

Blake Andres (Arlington, Tenn./Briarcrest HS) also singled for CBU (3-11, 0-6).
WHAT'S NEXT:The Lady Bucs open a seven-game homestand Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m. as they host LeMoyne-Owen for a doubleheader. They also take on Asbury in a 1 p.m. Friday doubleheader before a GSC series against Union Saturday and Sunday at noon.
