CLINTON, Miss.-Mississippi College lefty Carlie Sargent threw a six-hit shutout to lead the hosts to a 7-0 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• The Lady Choctaws (21-9, 11-7 GSC) struck first in the bottom of the second inning as Tylan Buckley hit a leadoff homer.
• MC added a run to its lead in the bottom of the fourth as they scored a run on a walk, a hit batter and an error.
• The Lady Choctaws put it out of reach with a five-run fifth inning, capitalizing on two singles, two walks and a Buckley grand slam.
