Argos Swamp Lady Bucs 11-2

MEMPHIS-Visiting West Florida scored 11 runs in the first three innings as they cruised to an 11-3 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• UWF (26-11, 13-8 GSC) scored three in the first on two singles, a walk and a double.
• The Argos added five more in the second inning on six singles and a double.
• UWF extended its lead to 11-0 in the top of the third with three runs on a walk, two singles and a double.
• The Lady Bucs (6-30, 2-19) scored twice in the bottom of the fourth to set the final margin. Holly Oyhenart (Menifee, Calif./Paloma Valley HS) led off with a walk. Alexis Seward (Chino, Calif./Chino HS) doubled her in, and Seward scored on a sacrifice fly by Olivia Parsels (Germantown, Tenn./St. Benedict HS).

KEY STATS:
• Seward went 1-for-2 with a double, a run and one RBI.
• Amber Johnson (Somerville, Tenn./Fayette Academy) went 1-for-2 as she extended her hitting streak to 18 games.

WHAT'S NEXT:
The Lady Bucs return to action next weekend for a GSC series at Delta State. Saturday's doubleheader starts at 2 p.m., with a single game set for Sunday at 1 p.m. Their next home game is Saturday, April 9, as they host West Georgia for a noon doubleheader.
