HUNTSVILLE, Ala.-No. 3 Alabama Huntsville defeated the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs 10-6 Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• The Lady Bucs (6-16, 2-10 GSC) opened the scoring with two runs in the top of the first.
Holly Oyhenart (Menifee, Calif./Paloma Valley HS) walked, and Amber Oyhenart followed with a bunt single. After a wild pitch moved them to second and third,
Gabrielle Sereika (Rochester, N.Y./Aquinas Institute) hit an RBI single up the middle, and Johnson scored on a double-steal.
• UAH (21-3, 11-1) answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning, on a single, three straight walks and an RBI groundout.
• The Chargers took the lead for good in the second, with two runs on a double, two singles, a hit batter and a sacrifice fly.
• CBU shaved a run off the deficit in the top of the third. Oyhenart walked, moved to second on a Johnson groundout and scored on an
Alexis Seward (Chino, Calif./Chino HS) single up the middle that cut the deficit to 4-3.
• UAH added two more in the bottom of the fourth on a walk, a stolen base and two doubles.
• The Lady Bucs scored a run in the top of the sixth.
Hannah Oliver (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) singled and moved to second on a
Maddi Welch (Munford, Tenn./Munford HS) sacrifice. She moved to third on an
Olivia Parsels (Germantown, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) single, and she scored on an
Abby Ferreira (Santa Clarita, Calif./Saugus HS) single to left.
• The Chargers scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth on a hit batter, two singles and two doubles.
• CBU set the final margin with two runs in the top of the seventh. Johnson led off with a bunt single and moved to second on a
Kylie Steagall (San Diego, Calif./Steele Canyon HS) groundout. Seward followed with a two-run homer to left to bring CBU within 10-6.
KEY STATS:• Seward went 2-for-3 with a run, a homer and three RBI.
• Johnson was 2-for-4 with two runs and a stolen base.

Abby Ferreira (Santa Clarita, Calif./Saugus HS) went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
• Oyhenart went 0-for-2 but reached base on two walks and scored twice.
• Sereika was 1-for-1 with one RBI and a stolen base.
WHAT'S NEXT:The Lady Bucs' schedule for this week has been adjusted. Tuesday's doubleheader at Southern Arkansas has been postponed, and Thursday's twinbill against LeMoyne-Owen has been canceled. CBU will now host Henderson State for a doubleheader Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m.
