HUNTSVILLE, Ala.-No. 3 Alabama-Huntsville scored in 10 of 11 innings as they swept a doubleheader from the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Saturday.
GAME 1:WHAT HAPPENED:The Chargers (20-3, 10-1 GSC) claimed a 17-0 victory as pitcher Tyler Harrison tossed a one-hit shutout.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• UAH scored three in the first inning on a homer, two walks and a double.
• A four-run second extended the Charger lead to 7-0 on a walk, two doubles and a homer.
• UAH added another run in the third on a single and a double.
• The Chargers put it out of reach with a nine-run fourth inning, cashing in on five singles, a double and five walks.
KEY STATS:•
Amber Johnson (Somerville, Tenn./Fayette Academy) broke up Harrison's no-hitter with a fourth-inning single, the only baserunner she allowed.
GAME 2:WHAT HAPPENED:The Lady Bucs (6-15, 2-9) jumped to an early 4-1 lead, but the Chargers scored 10 unanswered runs in the final four innings to claim an 11-4 win.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• UAH scored first in the bottom of the first on an error, a stolen base and a two-out single.
• The Lady Bucs answered with a three-run second inning.
Jenna Cotter (Collierville, Tenn./Houston HS) worked a leadoff walk, and
Maddi Welch (Munford, Tenn./Munford HS) reached base on a sacrifice bunt as the UAH defense failed to retire Cotter on the play.
Blake Andres (Arlington, Tenn./Briarcrest HS) followed with a three-run homer to left to give CBU a 3-1 edge.
• CBU scored again in the top of the third inning. Johnson legged out an infield single and stole second, scoring on a
Kylie Steagall (San Diego, Calif./Steele Canyon HS) double to left-center.
• UAH opened the third inning with back-to-back homers to spark the comeback.
• The Chargers regained the lead wth a two-run fourth inning, taking advantage of a double and two singles.
• UAH tacked on two more in the fifth on three singles and two stolen bases.
• The Chargers set the final margin in the sixth with four more runs on four singles, a double and a homer.
KEY STATS:• Andres was 1-for-3 with a homer, a run and three RBI.
• Cotter went 1-for-2 with a walk and a run.
• Steagall went 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI.
• Johnson was 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run.

Holly Oyhenart (Menifee, Calif./Paloma Valley HS) was 1-for-4.
• Welch laid down two sacrifice bunts, drew a walk and scored a run.
