Lady Bucs Edge Wolves 2-1

MEMPHIS-The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs claimed a 2-1 win over West Georgia Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Lady Bucs (9-35, 3-24 GSC) scored their first run without a hit in the bottom of the second inning. Hannah Oliver (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) worked a leadoff walk. After moving to second on a Sierra Anderson (Olive Branch, Miss./Lewisburg HS) sacrifice bunt, a pair of wild pitches brought her around to score.
• CBU doubled its advantage in the bottom of the fourth, again after an Oliver leadoff walk. Anderson followed with a single. After Oliver was caught stealing, pinch-runner Abby Ferreira (Santa Clarita, Calif./Saugus HS) scored on a two-out pinch-hit Kylie Steagall (San Diego, Calif./Steele Canyon HS) single to left.
• The Wolves (28-20, 12-14) scored what proved to be their only run of the day in the top of the fifth on a double and a single, both with two outs.

KEY STATS:
• Anderson was 1-for-1 with a sacrifice, and she threw three scoreless innings as starting pitcher, scattering four hits and a walk.
• Steagall was 1-for-1 with one RBI.
• Parsels was 1-for-3 with a double.
• Alexis Seward (Chino, Calif./Chino HS) went 1-for-2.
• Oliver drew a pair of walks with a stolen base and a run scored.
• Jenna Cotter (Collierville, Tenn./Houston HS) earned the win, allowing one run in four innings of relief as she allowed three hits and a walk against three strikeouts.
