Lady Flames Top CBU In Series Finale

CLEVELAND, Tenn.-Host Lee scored in four different innings as they claimed a 6-1 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Lady Flames (24-22-1, 10-18-1 GSC) struck first with a run in the bottom of the first inning on a single and a double.
• Lee tacked on two more in the bottom of the third on a single and a two-run run homer by Emily Dagnan.
• The Lady Bucs (9-38, 3-27) broke through in the top of the fifth. Jacqueline Conlan (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) led off with a single, and Hannah Oliver (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) followed with a single. After Amber Johnson (Somerville, Tenn./Fayette Academy) sacrificed them to second and third, Holly Oyhenart (Menifee, Calif./Paloma Valley HS) singled Conlan home to bring the Lady Bucs within a 3-1 score.
• Dagnan gave Lee a 6-1 led in the bottom of the fifth as she followed a pair of singles with a three-run homer.
• The Lady Flames added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth to set the final margin, converting on a walk, a double and two singles.

KEY STATS:
• Hannah Oliver (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) went 2-for-3.
• Johnson was 1-for-1 with two walks, a stolen base and a sacrifice bunt.
• Conlan went 1-for-3 with a run.
• Alexis Seward (Chino, Calif./Chino HS) was 1-for-3.
• Oyhenart went 1-for-4 with one RBI.

WHAT'S NEXT:
The Lady Bucs hit the road for the final time this season Tuesday afternoon as they visit Bethel for a 1 p.m. doubleheader. They wrap up the 2016 season next weekend as they host North Alabama for a three-game series, with Saturday's doubleheader set for 2 p.m. and Sunday's single game scheduled for noon.
