PINE BLUFF, Ark.-The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs posted two of their three highest-scoring games of the year as they swept a doubleheader from host Arkansas-Pine Bluff Wednesday, rallying for a 10-4 win in the opener and claiming a 10-0 win in the nightcap.
GAME 1:
WHAT HAPPENED:
The Lady Bucs (8-33) exploded for eight runs in the top of the seventh to rally for a 10-4 win in the opener.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• UAPB (11-26) struck first with two runs in the first inning on two singles and a double.
• The Lady Bucs tied the game back up in the top of the third inning.
Olivia Parsels (Germantown, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) singled and moved around to third on a pair of throwing errors.
Amy Koury (Pearland, Texas/Pearland HS) reached on a fielder's choice as Parsels was tagged out at home. After stealing second, Koury scored on an
Amber Johnson (Somerville, Tenn./Fayette Academy) single. Johnson came around to score on a
Holly Oyhenart (Menifee, Calif./Paloma Valley HS) single to tie the game.
• The Lions regained the lead with a run on two singles and an error in the bottom of the third.
• UAPB extended its lead to 4-2 with a leadoff homer by Moni Nikolao in the bottom of the fourth inning.
• The 4-2 score stood until the top of the seventh.
Sierra Anderson (Olive Branch, Miss./Lewisburg HS) opened the inning with a leadoff walk. Parsels reached on an error, and Koury followed with an infield single to load the bases with no outs. Johnson tied the game with a two-run single, and Oyhenart loaded the bases back up with a single.
Maddi Welch (Munford, Tenn./Munford HS) hit a sacrifice fly to give CBU the lead for good.
Alexis Seward (Chino, Calif./Chino HS) followed with an RBI single. After a
Jacqueline Conlan (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) walk loaded the bases again,
Hannah Oliver (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) reached on a fielder's choice that drove Oyhenart in. Parsels ended the inning with a single where three runs came around to score on an error before she was tagged out trying to score.

• Parsels was 3-for-4 with a run and one RBI.
• Johnson went 2-for-4 with a stolen base, two runs and three RBI.
• Seward was 2-for-3 with a run and one RBI.
• Oyhenart went 2-for-4 with a run and one RBI.

Jenna Cotter (Collierville, Tenn./Houston HS) earned the win as she allowed one run on a hit and a walk in three innings of relief.
GAME 2:
WHAT HAPPENED:
The Lady Bucs scored all 10 runs in the first three innings, and
Jenna Cotter (Collierville, Tenn./Houston HS) threw a three-hit shutout as they rolled to a 10-0 win.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Lady Bucs opened the scoring with three runs in the first inning. Johnson and Oyhenart opened the game with back-to-back singles. A wild throw on a double-steal allowed Johnson to score, and Oyhenart came home on a Welch triple. Welch scored on a passed ball to give CBU a 3-0 edge.
• The Lady Bucs tacked on five more runs in the top of the second, all with two out. Johnson started the rally with a single, and she scored after Oyhenart and Welch followed with singles. A Seward triple plated Oyhenart and Welch, and she scored on a Conlan base hit. After an Oliver walk, Conlan scored on an Anderson single to complete the scoring for the inning.
• CBU set the final margin with two more runs in the top of the third. Koury led off with a walk and stole second, scoring on a Welch double. Seward followed with an RBI double to give CBU a 10-0 lead.

• Oyhenart was 3-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs.
• Johnson went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs as she extended her school-record hitting streak to 23 games.

• Cotter threw a three-hit shutout, allowing one walk against two strikeouts.
