MEMPHIS-Visiting Mississippi College scored once in the first half and twice in the second as they claimed a 3-1 win over the Christian Brothers University Bucs Sunday afternoon at Signaigo Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Katie Taylor put the Lady Choctaws (5-2-1, 2-0-1 GSC) on the board in the ninth minute. After a shot hit the crossbar, the Lady Bucs' clearing attempt failed, and Taylor scored on a strike from the top of the 18-yard box.
• MC doubled their advantage in the 47th minute, when Megan Hawkins touched a ball to Kyra Montes, who found the net.
• In the 72nd minute, Meghan Mauzy sent a throughball ahead to Hannah Bailey, who scored to give MC a 3-0 edge.

Anna Della Rosa (Collierville, Tenn./Houston HS) scored her first career goal to put the Lady Bucs (2-6-0, 2-2-0) on the board in the 87th minute.
Ellen Garner (Pulaski, Tenn./Giles County HS) sent a throughball to her from near the midfield stripe. Della Rosa outran the Lady Choctaw defense, dribbled past the keeper on the right side of the goal, then scored into the left side of the net.

• The Lady Choctaws out-shot CBU 16-8 for the game, including an 8-4 edge in shots on goal.
