LIVINGSTON, Ala.-The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs shot a season-low 28 percent in a 71-42 loss at West Alabama Thursday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• CBU (9-6, 6-5 GSC) scored the game's first five points on a
Makayla Enochs (Finley, Tenn./Dyer County HS) triple and a
Courtney Banks (Memphis, Tenn./White Station HS) jumper.
• Back-to-back Peyton Parker triples sparked an 11-0 UWA (5-12, 2-8) run that gave them an 11-5 lead on a Chloe Culpepper layup with 5:55 remaining. CBU never came closer than four points again.
• The Tigers used a 21-8 run in the second quarter to push their lead to 41-24 on a Fannasy Garrett-Hammett free throw with 47 seconds remaining in the first half. CBU never came closer than 13 the rest of the way.
KEY STATS:

Rachel Lee (Jackson, Tenn./Jackson Christian School) scored 15 points with four rebounds for the Lady Bucs.
•
Madison Luckett (Memphis, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) scored six points with seven rebounds and a career-high six blocks, which is tied for third in school history for blocks in a game, two off the record of eight set by Sheena DeBose Nov. 20, 2010.
• CBU shot 28.3 percent (15-of-53) overall, including 21.1 percent (4-of-19) from three-point range. The Tigers finished 40.6 percent (26-of-64) overall, including 52.6 percent (10-of-19) from three-point range.
• UWA out-rebounded the Lady Bucs 51-32, including a 14-6 edge in offensive rebounds. Each team committed 10 turnovers.

The Lady Bucs return to action Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. as they visit West Georgia. Their next home game is set for Thursday, Feb. 2, when they host West Georgia at 5 p.m.
