CARROLLTON, Ga.-The Christian Brothers University Bucs used a 24-8 run sandwiching the halftime break as they took control en route to an 82-73 win at West Georgia Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Wolves (8-9, 5-6 GSC) took a 36-33 lead on a Shannon Fowler dunk with 1:57 remaining in the first half, setting up the decisive CBU (11-7, 8-4) run.
Jeff Larkin (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle HS) sparked the run with back-to-back jumpers to put the Bucs ahead for good. By the time
Adam Dieball (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota East HS) capped it with a layup with 14:18 remaining, the Bucs led 57-44.
• CBU extended its lead to as many as 16 points at 72-56 on a Larkin layup with 6:55 remaining. UWG used a 17-7 run to come within 79-73 on an Aren Ulmer layup with 1:51 remaining.
• Larkin sank a free throw with 1:34 remaining and a layup with 1:05 to play to set the final margin.
KEY STATS:
• Larkin scored 27 points with four assists. He finished 12-of-17 from the floor, including 12-of-13 on two-point shots.
• Dieball scored 19 points with six rebounds and six assists against just one turnover.

Joe Laravie (Kettering, Ohio/Alter HS) added 11 with three rebounds.

Brad Miller (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder HS) tacked on 10.
• The Bucs shot 55.2 percent (32-of-58) from the floor but just 26.1 percent (6-of-23) from three-point range. The Wolves finished 43.1 percent (25-of-58) overall, including 40 percent (8-of-20) from beyond the arc.
• The Wolves out-rebounded CBU 39-27, including an 11-2 edge in offensive boards. The Bucs forced 15 UWG turnovers while committing just six.

The Bucs open the second half of the GSC schedule Thursday night at 7 p.m. as they visit Shorter. Their next home game is Thursday night, Feb. 2, when they host West Georgia at 7 p.m.
