CLEVELAND, Tenn.-The Christian Brothers University Bucs out-scored host Lee 36-23 in the second half as they rallied from an eight-point first-half deficit to win 60-54 Saturday afternoon to remain in third place in the Gulf South Conference standings.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Lee (9-10, 5-8 GSC) used an 11-2 first-half run to open an 18-11 lead on a Keevin Tyus jumper with 10:14 remaining in the half. They extended their lead to eight points twice in the first half before taking a 31-24 halftime lead when Jervon Johnson knocked down a triple as time expired.
•
Jeff Larkin (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle HS) single-handedly sparked the CBU (12-8, 9-5) comeback, scoring the first seven points of the second half.
• The Flames used a 7-0 burst to regain a 40-33 edge on a Keevin Tyus free throw with 16:13 remaining in the half.
• The Bucs regained the lead for good with a 15-2 run capped by an
Adam Dieball (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota East HS) layup that gave them a 48-42 edge with 9:01 remaining. CBU extended its lead to 55-47 when Dieball knocked down a jumper with 4:49 remaining.
• Back-to-back Johnson three-pointers pulled the Flames within 55-53 with 3:12 remaining.

Alex Trentman (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart HS) put the Bucs back ahead by four when he made a jumper with 2:09 remaining. The Bucs survived two turnovers, two missed free throws and a missed layup in the final two minutes before
Brad Miller (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder HS) sank two free throws with nine seconds remaining to set the final margin.
KEY STATS:
• Dieball posted game-highs of 21 points and five assists to go with eight rebounds, a steal and a block.
• Larkin scored nine of his 13 points in the second half, adding two assists.
• Trentman notched his second double-double of the season with 12 points, 10 rebounds and three assists.
• The Bucs shot 49.0 percent (25-of-51) overall, including just 22.2 percent (4-of-18) from three-point range. Lee finished 42.2 percent (19-of-45) from the field, including 36.4 percent (8-of-22) from beyond the arc.
• The Flames out-rebounded CBU 31-30, including a 4-2 edge in offensive boards. The Bucs forced 18 Lee turnovers while committing just nine.
