Sinead Tierney (Winsford, England, St. Nicholas Catholic HS) scored two second-half goals to lead the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs to a 2-1 comeback win over Union Thursday night at Signaigo Field in their final game of the regular season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Lady Bulldogs (4-11-0, 4-10-0 GSC) opened scoring in the 15th minute as Olivia Schmitke scored from the right side of the box over the goalie, off an assist from Madison Studstill.
• CBU (10-6-1, 8-5-1 GSC) drew even in the 69th minute when
Shelby Goodrich (Eads, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) sent a ball into the box from the left sideline. Tierney caused a defender to turn the ball over and put a shot from just outside the 6-yard box into the left side of the net.
• The game-winner goal came in the 88th minute, when Tierney scored her second goal of the night.
Bailey Tadlock (Mandeville, La./Fontainebleau HS) provided the assist, chipping the ball from the right corner to Tierney, who shot the ball just inside the right post.
KEY STATS:
• The Lady Bucs out-shot Union 17-10, including a 10-5 edge in shots on goal.

Riley Chafin (Little Rock, Ark./Central HS) made four saves in the game.
GSC TOURNAMENT PICTURE:
The eight teams for next week's GSC Tournament are set, but seeds are still yet to be determined. Lee and Mississippi College tied for first with 36 points, with Lee earning the top seed and MC taking the second seed. North Alabama sits in third place with 34 points, while West Florida is in fourth with 31 points and one game remaining. Valdosta State holds the No. 5 seed with 26 points. CBU secured the sixth seed with 25 points, followed by West Alabama as the No. 7 seed with 24 points and West Georgia as the No. 8 seed with 21 points. West Florida will clinch the No. 3 seed with a win over Auburn Montgomery Saturday, while North Alabama would be the No. 3 seed with a tie or an Auburn Montgomery win.
WHAT'S NEXT:
The Lady Bucs will go into the Conference Tournament as the No. 6 seed and will play on the road in the GSC quarterfinals Tuesday, Oct. 31, against North Alabama or West Florida. The semifinals will be Friday, Nov. 3, in Montgomery, Ala., with the championship game set for Sunday, Nov. 5, in Montgomery.
