CLARKSVILLE-Host Austin Peay out-scored the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs 46-16 in the second half as they rallied for a 73-50 win after CBU led for nearly the entire first half.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• After the Governors (1-1) scored first, CBU closed the first quarter on a 14-2 run sparked by a
Makayla Enochs (Finley, Tenn./Dyer County HS) layup and capped five minutes later by an Enochs triple that gave CBU a 14-4 lead to end the first quarter.
• A 12-3 run midway through the third quarter extended the Lady Bucs' lead to 32-17, their largest of the night, on a
Brynne Lytle (Jackson, Tenn./Trinity Christian Academy) triple with 3:07 remaining in the first half.
• Austin Peay closed the first half on a 10-0 run to come within 34-27 on a Brianne Alexander layup in the final seconds of the half.
• After a
Mikaela Blissett (Oran, Mo./Scott County Central HS) layup started the third quarter scoring, the Governors dominated the remainder of the quarter, outscoring CBU 24-4 for the quarter as they forced seven CBU turnovers and held the Lady Bucs to just 2-of-8 shooting to take a 51-38 lead on a Shelbe Piggie three-pointer with 10 seconds remaining in the quarter.
• The Governors picked up where they left off in the fourth, starting the quarter with a 20-7 run as they opened a 71-45 lead, their largest of the night, on a Brandi Ferby jumper with 3:03 remaining.
KEY STATS:

Kelsey Adkins (Lawrenceburg, Tenn./Lawrence County HS) led the Lady Bucs with 14 points, adding three rebounds. She shot 4-of-8 overall, including 2-of-5 from three-point range.
• Lytle scored 12 in 21 minutes off the bench, shooting 4-of-6 overall including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc. She added two rebounds and two steals.

Emily Reeves (Somerville, Tenn./Fayette Academy) added eight points, five rebounds and two assists.
• Enochs scored seven with four rebounds and two assists.
• Blissett tacked on seven with two rebounds.
• The Lady Bucs shot 40.5 percent (17-of-42) for the game to the Governors' 48.4 percent (30-of-62). CBU shot 28.6 percent (6-of-21) from three-point range while APSU finished 34.8 percent (8-of-23).
• The Governors out-rebounded CBU 37-27, including a 10-2 edge in offensive rebounds, and they forced 24 CBU turnovers while committing 15.
