No. 16 Chargers Blank Lady Bucs 9-0

MEMPHIS-No. 16 Alabama Huntsville scored six runs in the top of the first as they claimed a 9-0 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Sunday afternoon at Bland Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• UAH (16-5, 7-2 GSC) jumped to a commanding early lead as they took advantage of two errors, a walk, a single, a double, a triple and a two-run Brooke Miller homer to score six runs in the top of the first inning.
• The Chargers added two more runs in the top of the second inning on a single, a double and an error.
• UAH set the final margin with a third-inning solo homer by Shannon Long.

KEY STATS:
• Kylie Steagall (San Diego, Calif./Steele Canyon HS) was 1-for-2.
• Olivia Parsels (Germantown, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) went 1-for-2.
• Sierra Anderson (Olive Branch, Miss./Lewisburg HS) was 1-for-2.
• Abby Ferreira (Santa Clarita, Calif./Saugus HS) went 1-for-2.
• Holly Oyhenart (Menifee, Calif./Paloma Valley HS) was 1-for-2.

WHAT'S NEXT:
The Lady Bucs play their next five games on the road, beginning Tuesday afternoon as they visit Harding for a 1 p.m. doubleheader. Their next home game is Saturday, March 18, when they host Mississippi College for a GSC doubleheader.
