CARROLLTON, Ga.-Host West Georgia claimed a 5-1 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Wolves (22-19, 12-12 GSC) scored a run in the bottom of the first on a walk and a double.
• UWG extended its lead to 5-0 in the third with four runs on a double, four singles, a hit batter and a passed ball.
• The Lady Bucs (6-35, 0-24) scored a run in the top of the fifth.
Amber Johnson (Somerville, Tenn./Fayette Academy) led off with an infield single. After stealing second, she moved to third on an
Olivia Parsels (Germantown, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) flyout and scored on a
Kylie Steagall (San Diego, Calif./Steele Canyon HS) single.
KEY STATS:
• Johnson went 3-for-4 with a stolen base and a run.
• Steagall was 1-for-1 with two walks and one RBI.

Sierra Anderson (Olive Branch, Miss./Lewisburg HS) went 1-for-1 with a hit by pitch.

Maddi Welch (Munford, Tenn./Munford HS) was 1-for-2.

Jenna Cotter (Collierville, Tenn./Houston HS) threw three and two-thirds innings of scoreless relief, with two strikeouts against a hit and a hit batter.
