FLORENCE, Ala.-No. 24/13 North Alabama handed the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs a 92-65 defeat Tuesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Lady Bucs (4-9, 3-4 GSC) used a 7-0 burst early to take a 7-2 lead on a
Kenzie Jones (Park Hills, Mo./Central HS) jumper with 6:44 remaining in the first quarter.
• UNA (14-1, 7-1) outscored CBU 19-7 over the final 6:12 of the quarter to take a 21-14 lead they would not relinquish.
• After the UNA lead grew to 18 points late in the third quarter on an Emma Wallen layup that gave them a 63-45 lead with 1:23 remaining in the quarter, the Lady Bucs mounted a comeback attempt.
Kelsey Adkins (Lawrenceburg, Tenn./Lawrence County HS) closed the third quarter and started the fourth with triples, and
Courtney Banks (Memphis, Tenn./White Station HS) capped the 8-0 run with a layup that brought CBU within 63-53 with 8:48 remaining.
• The Lions put the game out of reach with a 21-2 run capped by an Ivy Wallen jumper that gave them an 89-59 lead with 2:46 remaining.
KEY STATS:

Brynne Lytle (Jackson, Tenn./Trinity Christian Academy) led the Lady Bucs with 15 points, shooting 6-of-7 from the field including making all three of her three-point attempts.

Mikaela Blissett (Oran, Mo./Scott County Central HS) scored 12 points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
• Adkins added 11 with five rebounds and two steals in 20 minutes off the bench.
• The Lady Bucs shot 43.3 percent (26-of-60) from the field, including 34.8 percent (8-of-23) from three-point range. UNA finished 52.4 percent (33-of-63) overall, including 37.5 percent (6-of-16) from beyond the arc.
• The Lady Bucs out-rebounded UNA 39-35, including a 15-12 edge in offensive rebounds. UNA forced 18 CBU turnovers while committing 10.
