Bucs Fall In Overtime To Badgers

CLINTON, Mississippi- For 90 minutes, the Christian Brothers University Bucs and the Spring Hill Badgers were evenly matched, sending the game to overtime, the Bucs' fourth overtime game of the season, but Spring Hill scored in overtime to defeat the Bucs 3-2 Wednesday afternoon.


HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Bucs (5-5-3, 4-2-0 GSC) got on the board early with a 15th-minute goal from Xavi Lao (Barcelona, Spain/Escola Pia Sabadell) coming off a double-assist from Dalton Marin (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) and Bernardo Ferreira (Torres Vedras, Portugal/Secundaria Madeira Torres).
  • The Badgers (12-1-0, 8-0-0) took no time to score the equalizer with a goal in the 19th minute by Matthew Moreno with the assist coming from Tillman Schober.
  • Maximillian Galizzi (Puerto Madryn, Argentina/Escuela de la Costa) put the Bucs back in the lead in the 63rd minute with an unassisted goal.
  • Spring Hill's Alexander Lipinski evened things up at two goals in the 84th minute coming from a penalty kick.
  • Timo Schabetsberger finished the scoring for the game with the game-winning goal coming in overtime to complete the win for the Badgers.

  • The Badgers out-shot the Bucs 16-13 for the game, including a 8-6 advantage in shots on goal.
