MEMPHIS – The Christian Brothers University Lady Buccaneers soccer team dropped a Sunday matchup against the Delta State Lady Statesman, 4-3 at Signaigo Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Things got going quickly, as both Delta State and CBU tallied goals in the sixth minute, Lady Bucs forward/midfielder Sinead Tierney (Winsford, England/St. Nicholas Catholic HS) headed the goal in on a cross from Regan Hafer (Arlington, Texas/Nolan Catholic HS). However, entering halftime, CBU trailed 3-1
- The Lady Bucs (5-4-1, 4-3-0 GSC) responded quickly in the second-half, scoring two goals in 11 minutes. Bailey Tadlock (Mandeville, La./Fontainebleau HS) punched in the first goal after receiving a pass from Anna Della Rosa (Collierville, Tenn./Houston HS). Melissa Tammi (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) tied things up at 3-3 when she scorched a shot in the net in the 57th minute.
- However, Delta State seized the momentum in the 65th minute, scoring the eventual game-winner.
KEY STATS:
- Sinead Tierney's (Winsford, England/St. Nicholas Catholic HS) first-half goal marks her 8th of the season (career high), good for 4th in the Gulf South Conference.
- The Lady Bucs scored at least three goals for the fifth time in 10 games this season. Christian Brothers University only tallied three goals or more three times in all of 2017.

The Lady Bucs hit the road for two Gulf South Conference games against Lee University and Shorter University. Game one against Lee is Friday, October 12
th at 4:00 p.m., followed by the game Sunday against Shorter on Sunday, October 14
