HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Lady Bucs (9-13) hit .400 in the opening set, using a 6-1 run to break an 11-all tie and take a 17-12 lead they would not relinquish on a Gennah Schoen (Portland, Ore./David Douglas HS) kill. Trevecca (7-12) came as close as three points three times, last at 21-18 before back-to-back Anna Graziosi (Lakeland, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) aces gave the Lady Bucs a chance to serve for set point, eventually winning 25-19 on a Miaya Smith (Memphis, Tenn./St. George's Independent School) kill.
• CBU stormed to an early 7-2 lead in the second set, and they blew it open with a seven-point run featuring three Emma Lenoir (Chattanooga, Tenn./East Hamilton HS) aces as they staked a 16-5 lead on their way to a 25-13 win.
• In the third set it was the Trojans who took an early 3-0 lead and led as late as 12-10 before a seven-point CBU run featuring three more Lenoir aces gave the Lady Bucs a 17-12 lead, and they never allowed the Trojans closer than four again, pulling away for a 25-15 win.
