Skyhawks Down Lady Bucs 108-82 in Final Exhibition

MARTIN, Tennessee-Host Tennessee Martin saw 12 players score as they claimed a 108-82 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Monday in the Lady Bucs' final exhibition game.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Skyhawks (4-1) never trailed, jumping out to a 12-3 lead on a Damiah Griffin layup with 5:38 remaining in the opening stanza.
• CBU answered with a 7-0 burst sparked by a Makayla Enochs (Finley, Tenn./Dyer County HS) triple and capped by a Rachel Lee (Jackson, Tenn./Jackson Christian School) jumper to close within 12-10 with 3:50 remaining in the quarter.
• A 7-0 UTM run capped by an Emma Davis free throw extended the margin to 21-12 with 58 seconds remaining in the quarter.
• An 11-2 run midway through the second quarter built a 42-28 lead on a Griffin three-point play with 4:14 remaining in the half. 
• The Skyhawks led by as many as 19 points late in the half and by as many as 32 points late in the third quarter.

KEY STATS:
Kayla Freeman (Memphis, Tenn./East HS) scored 19 points with four assists and four steals in 27 minutes.
Brynne Lytle (Jackson, Tenn./Trinity Christian Academy) scored 16 with four rebounds and three assists.
Kelsey Adkins (Lawrenceburg, Tenn./Lawrence County HS) added 13 with three rebounds.
Kenzie Jones (Park Hills, Mo./Central HS) scored nine with a team-high seven rebounds.
Rachel Lee (Jackson, Tenn./Jackson Christian School) added nine with four steals, four rebounds and three assists.
• The Lady Bucs shot 47.5 percent (29-of-61) for the game, including 35.0 percent (7-of-20) from three-point range. UTM finished 42.5 percent (37-of-87) overall, including 25 percent (7-of-28) from beyond the arc.
• The Skyhawks out-rebounded CBU 55-34, including a 28-9 edge in offensive boards, and they forced 30 Lady Bucs turnovers while committing 22.

WHAT'S NEXT:
The Lady Bucs visit Lane tomorrow night at 5:30 p.m. Their next home game is Tuesday, Dec. 4, when they host Lane at 5 p.m.
