Lady Bucs Fall In Exhibition Opener

CLARKSVILLE, Tennessee- Austin Peay State University scored 26 points off of 22 Christian Brothers University turnovers as they claimed the 100-62 exhibition game victory over the Lady Bucs Friday night.


HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Lady Bucs held the lead for the first 5 minutes, opening the game with a 9-4 run, with Makayla Enochs (Finley, Tenn./Dyer County HS) scoring in back-to-back possessions.
  • The Governors then answered with a 14-0 run, pulling out to a 23-11 lead from a three-point shot coming from Gabby Gregory, which led to the last time the Lady Bucs were within double digit points.
  • With a made three-point shot by Brianah Ferby with 8:09 left in the 3rd quarter, the Governors never led less than 20 points.
  • Austin Peay used a 17-0 run in the 4th quarter to extend the lead to 95-55 on a Myah Leflore layup with 2:47 remaining.

KEY STATS:
  • Brynne Lytle (Jackson, Tenn./Trinity Christian Academy) finished the game with a double-double, with 10 points and 10 rebounds in 36 minutes .
  • Kelsey Adkins (Lawrenceburg, Tenn./Lawrence County HS) scored a game high 12 points, while also tacking on 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals in 27 minutes.
  • The Lady Bucs struggled shooting the ball, shooting 32 percent (21-of-65) from the field, and 29 percent (8-of-28) from downtown. Austin Peay finished shooting 52% (36-of-69) overall, including 45% (13-of-29) from behind the arc.
  • The Governors forced 22 turnovers, converting 26 points from them.
