CLINTON, Mississippi- The
Mississippi College Lady Choctaws started off hot with a 6-0 run against the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs and never looked back as they led the entire ballgame, as they ran away with a 63-50 victory against the Lady Bucs Monday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Coco Hobson was extremely active in the Lady Choctaws' (4-5, 1-3 GSC) 6-0 run to begin the game. She finished this run with four points and two rebounds.
- Halfway through the second quarter, the Lady Choctaws went on a 16-2 run which helped them end the first half with the 15 point 37-22 lead.
- The Lady Bucs (4-5, 1-3) made their biggest push to close the lead late in the fourth quarter as they went on a 17-5 run to narrow the score to 59-50. This was not enough for the Lady Bucs as the Lady Choctaws closed out the game for the 63-50 victory.
KEY STATS:
- Kenzie Jones (Park Hills, Mo./Central HS) led the scoring for the Lady Bucs with 10 points, which came with six rebounds.
- Makayla Enochs (Finley, Tenn./Dyer County HS) and Rachel Lee (Jackson, Tenn./Jackson Christian School) both finished with nine points. Enochs tallied six rebounds to come along with her nine points. Lee gathered four rebounds and three steals with her nine points.
- Kelsey Adkins (Lawrenceburg, Tenn./Lawrence County HS) led the Lady Bucs with eight rebounds.
- The Lady Bucs shot 25.7 percent (18-70) from the field, including 13.3 percent (4-30) from downtown, and 90.9 percent (10-11) from the line. The Lady Choctaws finished shooting 40.7 percent (22-54), while shooting 0 percent (0-10) from three, and 73.1 percent (19-26) from the free throw line.
- Mississippi College out rebounded the Bucs 47-43. The Lady Bucs held an edge in offensive (16-10) rebounds, but the Lady Warhawks led in defensive (37-27) rebounds.

The Lady Bucs don't return to action until the New Year. Their next game comes Saturday, January 5th against Lee University at Canale Arena.
