Bucs Outlast Lions 6-3 in 12

HENDERSON, Tennessee-The Christian Brothers University Bucs scored three runs in the top of the 12th inning to claim a 6-3 win at Freed-Hardeman Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Lions (9-6) opened the scoring with a run in the bottom of the first on a single and a double.
• CBU (4-9) drew even in the top of the third with a run. Nick Traylor (Germantown, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) reached on an error and moved to third on another error after a Larry Hubbard (Collierville, Tenn./St. George's Independent HS) single, scoring when Jaime Soto (Naples, Fla./Gulf Coast HS) grounded out.
• FHU regained the lead with a run in the fourth on two walks, a hit batter and a sacrifice fly.
• The Bucs tied it back up in the top of the fifth. #T.J. Klutts# worked a leadoff walk and stole second, moving to third on a  Hunter Howard (Chelsea, Ala./Chelsea HS) groundout and scoring on a sacrifice fly by Traylor.
• CBU took its first lead of the day in the top of the ninth. Jared Cramer (Olive Branch, Miss./DeSoto Central HS) led off with the double and scored on sacrifice bunts by Parker Jordan (Southaven, Miss./Briarcrest Christian HS) and Keagan Voss (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS).
• The lead was short-lived as the Lions tied it back up in the ninth on a single, a stolen base and another single to send the game to extra innings
• The Bucs took the lead for good with a 12th-inning rally. Howard led off with a walk and moved to second on a Traylor sacrifice. Jeff Goodwin (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) singled him home for the winning run. After Goodwin stole second, Soto drew a walk, and pinch-runner Trevor Goetsch (Arlington, Tenn./Arlington HS) and Goodwin successfully executed a double-steal. With two out, a passed ball scored Goodwin and a wild pitch plated Goetsch to set the final margin.
