HUNTSVILLE, Alabama-The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs split two games on the first day of the UAH Charger Chillout, losing 10-0 to Henderson State but rallying for an 8-5 win over Tuskegee.
GAME 1: Henderson State 10, CBU 0
WHAT HAPPENED:
The Lady Reddies (4-1) scored five runs in the first en route to a 10-0 win over the Lady Bucs (2-4).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• HSU plated five runs in the first on two walks, two hit batters, two doubles and two singles.
• The Lady Reddies added three more in the third on a homer, a double and two singles.
• HSU scored two more in the fourth on a triple, a double and a single to set the final margin.
KEY STATS:

Ashlyn Hinton (Anniston, Ala./White Plains HS) went 1-for-2.

Amber Johnson (Somerville, Tenn./Fayette Academy) was 1-for-3.

GAME 2: CBU 8, Tuskegee 5
WHAT HAPPENED:
The Lady Bucs rallied from deficits in the first and third innings to down Tuskegee 8-5.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Tuskegee (0-6) opened the scoring with a two-out rally in the top of the first on a two-out triple, with the run scoring on an error.
• The Lady Bucs took their first lead of the day in the bottom of the second. Walks to
Shelby Crocker (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS),
Olivia Parsels (Germantown, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) and
Jacqueline Conlan (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) loaded the bases with one out for
Katelyn Cherry (Atwood, Tenn./West Carroll HS), who worked a bases-loaded walk to score the first run.
Holly Oyhenart (Menifee, Calif./Paloma Valley HS) drove in another run when she grounded into a force play.
• The Golden Tigers scored three in the top of the third on four singles and three stolen bases to regain the lead.
• CBU took the lead for good in the bottom of the third as they took advantage of two errors. Johnson reached on an error to start the inning. After stealing second and third, she scored when
Savannah Rosevear-Goetsch (Arrington, Tenn./Fred J. Page HS) reached on another error. An
Ashlyn Hinton (Anniston, Ala./White Plains HS) walk and a Parsels single loaded the bases with one out. Conlan followed with a two-run single down the left field line to give CBU a 5-4 lead. An Oyhenart single loaded the bases again, and Welch drove in Parsels with a two-out walk.
• Tuskegee scored another run on a double and two groundouts in the top of the fourth.
• The Lady Bucs set the final margin with two more in the bottom of the fifth. Cherry drew a one-out walk, and Oyhenart followed with a single. After a Welch groundout moved them to second and third, Johnson scored Cherry with an infield single. Rosevear-Goetsch scored Oyhenart with another single to extend the lead to 8-5.

• Oyhenart went 3-for-5 with a stolen base, a run and one RBI.
• Rosevear-Goetsch was 1-for-4 with a run and two RBI.
• Johnson went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, a run and one RBI.

Sierra Anderson (Olive Branch, Miss./Lewisburg HS) earned the win, throwing four and two-thirds innings as she allowed one run on five hits and a walk against four strikeouts.

The Lady Bucs play two more games in the Charger Chillout Friday, facing Miles at noon and Truman State at 2 p.m. Their home opener is set for Wednesday, Feb. 21, when they host LeMoyne-Owen for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
