MEMPHIS-Visiting West Alabama scored two runs in the second and three in the fifth as they claimed a 5-1 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Tigers (12-19, 8-10 GSC) scored two unearned runs in the top of the second on two singles, an error and a double.
• UWA added three more in the fifth on a leadoff Nicole Buccieri homer followed by two singles and a double.
• The Lady Bucs (7-25, 1-17) scored a run in the bottom of the inning.
Abby Ferreira (Santa Clarita, Calif./Saugus HS) reached on a two-base error. After moving to third on a passed ball, she scored on an
Ashlyn Hinton (Anniston, Ala./White Plains HS) single to left to set the final margin.
KEY STATS:
• Hinton went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Holly Oyhenart (Menifee, Calif./Paloma Valley HS) was 2-for-4.
•
Olivia Parsels (Germantown, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) went 1-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base.

Sierra Anderson (Olive Branch, Miss./Lewisburg HS) threw two and a third scoreless innings of relief, pitching around two hits and a walk.
