MEMPHIS-Visiting Union took the lead with a five-run seventh inning on their way to a 6-3 win over the Christian Brothers University Bucs Sunday afternoon on CBU's Senior Day at Nadicksbernd Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Bucs (11-38, 5-25 GSC) opened the scoring with a run on a two-out rally in the bottom of the fifth.
Keagan Voss (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) dropped a flare down the right field line for a double, and he scored on a single to left by
Jeff Goodwin (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS).
• Union (17-32, 10-20) answered with five runs in the top of the seventh, taking advantage of two singles, two doubles, a hit batter and a triple.
• The Bulldogs added a run in the eighth on a walk, a stolen base and a single.
• CBU set the final margin with two runs in the bottom of the ninth.
Jared Cramer (Olive Branch, Miss./DeSoto Central HS) led off with a walk and moved to third on a
Brandon Dodd (Arlington, Tenn./Arlington HS) double. After
Hunter Howard (Chelsea, Ala./Chelsea HS) was hit by a pitch to load the bases, a double play plated Cramer. Pinch-hitter
Trevor Goetsch (Arlington, Tenn./Arlington HS) followed with an RBI double down the left field line to score Howard.
KEY STATS:
• Goodwin went 2-for-4 with one RBI.
• Voss was 1-for-3 with a walk, a double and a run.
• Dodd went 2-for-4 with two doubles.

Jaime Soto (Naples, Fla./Gulf Coast HS) was 1-for-3 with a walk and a double.
• Goetsch went 1-for-1 with a double and one RBI.

Jonathan Baldelli (Bartlett, Tenn./Bartlett HS) threw an inning and two-thirds of scoreless relief, only allowing one baserunner on a walk.
