MEMPHIS-The Christian Brothers University men's tennis team defeated the Blue Mountain College Toppers 9-0 on Monday.
Nick Cotros (Collierville, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) and
Abel Kim (Memphis, Tenn./Homeschooled) combined for three wins in the Bucs' home finale.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Seniors and doubles partners,
Abel Kim (Memphis, Tenn./Homeschooled) and
Nick Cotros (Collierville, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) gave the Bucs their first point of the day blanking their No. 3 doubles opponents 8-0. No. 2 Flores/Calzacorta and No. 1 Saez/Maccarini completed the sweep of doubles for the Bucs with their respective 8-1, 8-2 victories. In singles, Able Kim finished the day without dropping a game, defeating his opponent 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 5 slot. After a competitive first set, Nick Cotros logged his second win of the day with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 6. Lorenzo Maccarini secured his first win since moving to the No. 1 singles spot this season with his 6-4, 6-2 victory. Wins by Javier Saez, Andres Calzacorta, and Atilio Flores completed the Buccaneer sweep.
WHAT'S NEXT:
The Bucs will play their remaining matches this season on the road. Beginning on Thursday, April 5, they will travel to play GSC opponents West Alabama, West Florida, and Valdosta State.
