BOCA RATON, Florida-No. 2 Lynn University scored four first-half goals as they rolled to a 7-0 victory Friday night against the Christian Brothers University Bucs in the season opener for both squads.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn (1-0-0) jumped to an early 1-0 lead in the third minute, when Mark Faeth scored off an assist by Shay Brennan and Lukas Hombach.
- The Fighting Knights tacked on another score in the 19th minute as Daniel Brenan scored off an assist from Niklas Tasky.
- Shay Brennan scored again for the Knights in the 19th minute as they extended the deficit to 3-0.
- Max Herbert was assisted by Lukas Hombach in the 41st minute to make it 4-0.
- Gustavo Bergman was able to capitalize from a through ball from Will Coutts in the 61st minute to extend the Knights lead to 5-0.
- Niklas Tasky joined in on the scoring when he was fed with a pass from Max Herbert in the 74th minute to make it 6-0.
- Bruno Sanitz finished off the scoring for the Knights in the 86th minute when he was assisted by Sam Holland and Daniel Brenan.
KEY STATS:
- The Fighting Knights out-shot the Bucs (0-1-0) 14-0 for the game, including a 10-0 edge in shots on goal.
