SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – In the 2018 women's soccer season opener, the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs drew even against the Drury Panthers 2-2 in a double overtime marathon on Friday night at Lake Country Soccer Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Things were fairly even through the first 15 minutes, but the Panthers (0-0-1) struck first in the 15th minute as Brinn Cooper's goal gave them the advantage.
- The Lady Bucs (0-0-1) bounced right back, scoring two goals in the next four minutes to take a 2-1 lead. Senior midfielder #Sinead Tierney# scored both.
- The action wasn't finished before halftime though, as Drury brought things square at two in the 30th minute on a goal by Katie Cole.
- Neither team could take advantage in the second-half or either overtimes, despite several chances either way.
KEY STATS:
- CBU held the advantage in shots (28-10) and shots on goal (8-5) throughout the game. Midfielders #Bailey Tadlock# and #Sinead Tierney# led the way for the Lady Bucs, combing for 11 shots.
- Despite not recording a shot, forward #Caitlin Barnes# recorded the Lady Bucs only assist on the night.

The Lady Bucs continue their road-stand to start the season as they travel to Rolla, Missouri, to face the Missouri S&T Miners on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. CBU returns home next Friday for their first game at Signaigo Field against the Barry Buccaneers at 7:30 p.m.
