Lady Bucs Start Strong, Defeat Tigers

MEMPHIS- The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs scored three goals in a four-minute span of the first half Sunday at Signaigo Field, building a lead they would not relinquish in a 3-1 win over GSC foe West Alabama.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 
  • The Lady Bucs (4-2-1, 3-1-0 GSC) opened the scoring early in the first half with a goal in the 15th minute from Anna Della Rosa (Collierville, Tenn./Houston HS) assisted by Bailey Tadlock (Mandeville, La./Fontainebleau HS).
  • Della Rosa added another goal in the 17th minute off of an assist from Ashton White (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) to give CBU a 2-0 edge.
  • In the 19th minute, the Bucs kept the scoring coming with Amanda Dutra (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/American School) and Della Rosa assisting Sinead Tierney (Winsford, England/St. Nicholas Catholic HS) for the Lady Bucs' third goal on the day.
  • The Tigers (4-3-1, 2-2-0) finished the scoring for the game in the 68th minute with a goal from TeMia Pride.

KEY STATS: 
  • Both teams were even with 14-14 shots for the game, but the Tigers held the 7-6 advantage in shots on goal.

WHAT'S NEXT:
The Lady Bucs continue their home stand Wednesday night at 6 p.m. as they host Rhodes at Signaigo Field.
