Bucs Draw With Bulldogs In 2OT Thriller

JACKSON, Tenn.- The Christian Brothers University Bucs and the Union University Bulldogs were evenly matched throughout the entire game, as both teams scored a single goal in the first half, but both teams failed to score again to end the game in a 1-1 2OT draw Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Union (1-5-2, 1-3-1 GSC) opened the scoring early with a goal in the 17th minute by Gavin Scott which was assisted by Andre Silva.
  • The Bucs (2-4-2, 1-1-2) evened things up in the 38th minute with Xavi Lao (Barcelona, Spain/Escola Pia Sabadell) scoring the final goal of the match, which came off of a pass from Maximillian Galizzi (Puerto Madryn, Argentina/Escuela de la Costa). 
KEY STATS:
  • The Bucs out-shot the Bulldogs 19-13 for the game, including a  11-1 advantage in shots on goal.
  • Lao has scored a goal in two consecutive games
