JACKSON, Tennessee-The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs picked up a three-set win over Belmont Abbey Friday night in the Union University Volleyball Classic.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Lady Bucs (4-5) blew open an 11-all tie in the first set with an eight-point run that gave them a 19-11 edge, and they held on for a 25-19 win.
• CBU again used a quick run in the second set, taking a 5-1 lead they would later build to 22-15. The Crusaders (2-6) stormed back with an eight-point run to take a 23-22 edge, but the Lady Bucs scored four of the last five points to win 29-27.
• The Lady Bucs jumped to early leads of 8-1 and 10-2 in the second set, never allowing BAC closer than four points again as they won 25-15 to complete the sweep.
KEY STATS:

Miaya Smith (Memphis, Tenn./St. George's Independent School) hit .600 with 10 kills and two blocks for the Lady Bucs.

Emma Lenoir (Chattanooga, Tenn./East Hamilton HS) hit .143 with 11 kills and 13 digs.

Mollie Wadsworth (Hernando, Miss./Northpoint Christian HS) added six kills with two blocks.

Anna Graziosi (Lakeland, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) dished out 20 assists with a match-best 14 digs.
•
Alexa Henderson (Prairie du Sac, Wis./Sauk Prairie HS) had 11 assists and eight digs.
WHAT'S NEXT:
The Lady Bucs play a pair of games in the tournament Saturday, facing Henderson State at 12:30 p.m. and LeMoyne-Owen at 5 p.m. Their next home match is Friday night, Sept. 14, when they host Alabama Huntsville.
