Lytle's Career Night Helps Lady Bucs Sail To Victory

LIVINGSTON, Alabama- Behind an onslaught of scoring from Brynne Lytle (Jackson, Tenn./Trinity Christian Academy), the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs bounced back from a three-game skid against the West Alabama Tigers Thursday evening, 77-63 in Livingston, Alabama.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The majority of the first quarter was a back-and-forth ballgame. Lytle changed that with a layup at the 5:25 mark, which encouraged a 13-0 run that helped the Lady Bucs to a 23-17 edge at the end of the quarter.
  • The second quarter was nearly a mirror image of the first quarter. It was back-and-forth until a Rachel Lee (Jackson, Tenn./Jackson Christian School) layup fell, coming with 3:41 left remaining in the half. The Lady Bucs took control of the rest of the half as they went into the locker room with the 35-34 lead.
  • The third quarter was all Lytle's. She put up 12 points in the third quarter alone, all coming from three pointers. The barrage of threes led to the Lady Bucs holding on to a 55-50 lead.
  • The Lady Bucs took full control in the fourth. They finished the game on a 19-1 run, which helped them control their first GSC road win of the season.

KEY STATS:
  • Kenzie Jones (Park Hills, Mo./Central HS) had a great all-around game, tallying 14 points, six assists, and two steals.
  • Lauren Taylor (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) nearly completed a double-double as she tallied nine points which came along with seven rebounds.
  • Lytle was the story of the game. Lytle posted 34 points, on 11-of-20 shooting from the field. Lytle's 34 point game is only the 16th, 30 point game in school history. Her 11 made field goals makes her tied for the 3rd most in school history. Lytle also splashed six threes, which is the 4th most in school history for a single game.

WHAT'S NEXT:
The Lady Bucs continue their road trip as they travel to Montevallo, Alabama to face the Lady Falcons of Montevallo. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00PM.
