Lady Bucs Fall 96-59, Split Road Trip

MONTEVALLO, Alabama- Host Montevallo sunk 54.9 percent of their shots from the field as they defeated the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs 96-59 Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Montevallo started the game on a 11-3 run powered by Aaliyah Rice. Rice scored the first eight points of the ball game and helped lead the Falcons to a 35-15 first quarter lead.
  • Brynne Lytle (Jackson, Tenn./Trinity Christian Academy) continued her scoring as she went on to score 12 first half points. The second quarter was back-and-forth, but the Falcons went into the lockerrooms with the 55-35 lead.
  • The Lady Bucs were held to only six points in the third quarter, which helped the Falcons go into the fourth quarter with the 73-41 lead. 
  • The Lady Bucs went on a few scoring runs in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough, as the Falcons went on to defeat the Lady Bucs 96-59.

KEY STATS:
  • Three Lady Bucs finished the game with double digit points. Lytle led the scoring with 16 points, which came along with six rebounds and three assists. Kenzie Jones (Park Hills, Mo./Central HS) finished the game with 13 points, five rebounds, and three assists. Makayla Lane tallied 10 points and two assists.
  • The Lady Bucs shot 32.8 percent (21-64) from the field, including 24.2 percent (8-33) from downtown, and 69.2 percent (9-13) from the line. The Falcons finished shooting 54.9 percent (39-71), while shooting 46.7 percent (7-15) from three, and 73.3 percent (11-15) from the free throw line.

WHAT'S NEXT: 
The Lady Bucs return to Canale Arena, Thursday, January 17th as they will be matched up against conference foe Mississippi College.
