Lady Bucs Edged By Mississippi College

MEMPHIS, Tennessee- The Mississippi College Lady Choctaws put on a rebounding clinic as they out rebounded the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs (43-27), Thursday evening. The Lady Bucs fell just short in the comeback effort as they fell 90-83 to the Lady Choctaws.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The start of the game was a back-and-forth matchup. Both teams were trading blows until, Mississippi College went on a big 12-3 run, halfway through the first quarter. This helped the Lady Choctaws end the quarter with the 11 point lead (23-12).
  • The Lady Bucs chipped away at the lead in the second quarter, with a 12-2 run, minutes before the half. The Lady Bucs controlled the second quarter and finished the half only down four points (33-29).
  • The third quarter was all, the Lady Choctaws', Jamiliah Sanders. Sanders scored 16 points in the quarter, but the Lady Bucs matched her pretty evenly, as they ended the quarter trailing only six (61-55).
  • Kenzie Jones (Park Hills, Mo./Central HS) led the Lady Bucs in the final quarter with eight points, but it was too little too late. The Lady Choctaws pulled out the 90-83 victory.

KEY STATS:
