MEMPHIS- The University of Alabama in Huntsville Chargers started off hot with a 13-0 run against the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs and never looked back as they led the entire ballgame, as they ran away with a 83-71 victory against the Lady Bucs Monday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Katie Speegle was extremely active in the Chargers' (5-7, 3-3 GSC) 13-0 run to begin the game. She finished this run with four points, two rebounds, and a block.
- Halfway through the second quarter, the Chargers went on a big 15-0 run which helped them finish the first half with a 51-31 lead.
- The Lady Bucs (4-7, 1-5) made their biggest push to close the lead late in the fourth quarter as they went on a 12-2 run to narrow the score to 76-59. This was not enough for the Lady Bucs as the Chargers closed out the game for the 83-71 victory.
KEY STATS:
- Lauren Taylor (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) finished the game with a career high 18 points. She also tallied eight rebounds.
- Three other Lady Bucs finished the game with double digit points. Brynne Lytle (Jackson, Tenn./Trinity Christian Academy) finished with 16, Rachel Lee (Jackson, Tenn./Jackson Christian School) finished with 14, and Kenzie Jones (Park Hills, Mo./Central HS) tallied 12 points.
- The Lady Bucs shot 35.7 percent (25-70) from the field, including 25.0 percent (8-32) from downtown, and 68.4 percent (13-19) from the line. The Chargers finished shooting 56.1 percent (32-57), while shooting 38.9 percent (7-18) from three, and 63.2 percent (12-19) from the free throw line.

The Lady Bucs are on the road for their next two matchups as they take on West Alabama Thursday, January 10th and Montevallo Saturday, January 12th. The Lady Bucs return home Thursday, January 17th as they take on conference foe Mississippi College.
