MEMPHIS - The Christian Brothers University volleyball team earned its first three set Gulf South Conference sweep of the season in a victory over Valdosta State, on Friday at Canale Arena.
CBU 3, VSU 0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-19)
WHAT HAPPENED:
The Lady Bucs hit .278, committed just 12 errors and had 12 aces.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Trailing 20-19 in the first set, the Lady Bucs reeled off six straight points to go up 1-0.
• CBU never trailed in the second set and, scored the last three points to extend their lead.
• In the final set VSU led 11-6, but the Lady Bucs went on a 6-1 run to tie the score at 12.
• The Lady Bucs did not trail the rest of the way, and held on for the win.
KEY STATS:

Emma Lenoir led the Lady Bucs with 12 kills, while
Mollie Wadsworth helped the cause with 11.

Meredith Hollinger finished with 6 blocks,
•
Maddie Stevens finished with a career/match high five aces, and added 7 digs.
• Alyana Maslinski added 6 kills and a team-high 10 digs.
• The 12 errors were tied for the second-fewest this season, while the .278 hitting percentage is the third-best of the season.
