Lady Bucs Drop Hard Fought Contest at No. 5 Lee

CLEVELAND, Tenn. - No. 5 Lee finished the last five minutes on a 15-6 run to earn a 69-56 victory over the Christian Brothers University women's basketball team, on Saturday afternoon at Walker Arena. The Lady Bucs trailed by just two points (27-25) at the half and by six (47-41) going in the final period.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Lee held the Lady Bucs scoreless in the final 2:09 to take an 18-12 lead after the opening quarter. 
  • The Lady Bucs fought back, holding Lee to just 4-of-17 shooting to cut the lead to 27-25 at the half. 
  • Lee led by as many as eight points in the third quarter, but the Lady Bucs responded cutting the lead to 39-37 with 2:62 left in the third quarter. 
  • A jumper by Taylor Williams, with 4:52 left got CBU to within 54-50. 
  • Lee showed why it has won 21 of its last 22 at home, as it closed out the game on a 15-6 run to hold on for the win. 

KEY STATS | NOTEABLES:
  • Lee finished the game shooting 43 percent (26-of-61) from the floor. 
  • CBU was 20-of-57 (35 percent) from the field. 
  • Lee commanded the paint, outscoring CBU 34-20.
  • The Lady Bucs were outrebounded by a slim 40-36 margin 
  • Brynne Lytle led the Lady Bucs, posting season high's in points (26) and rebounds (10). Lytle has posted at least 20 points in all but one game this season. 

UP NEXT:
The Lady Bucs have off for the holiday break and are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, Jan. 4 when they travel to Huntsville, Ala., to face Alabama Huntsville. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
