HUNTSVILLE, Alabama- Alabama Huntsville outscored the Christian Brothers University women's basketball team 26-11 in the first quarter, and never relinquished the lead, in an 83-72 victory, on Saturday at Spragins Hall.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- A big 11-0 run, for UAH (13-12, 11-8 GSC), pushed its lead to 15 points (26-11) at the end of the first quarter.
- CBU (10-14, 7-12) closed out the half on a 14-7 scoring run, while Makayla Enochs, poured in seven points, to trim the lead to 44-33 heading into the half.
- The third quarter was back-and-forth, but the Lady Bucs outscored UAH 24-20 to cut the lead to 64-57.
- UAH outscored CBU 19-15 in the fourth quarter to hold on for the victory.
KEY STATS:
- Rachel Lee led the Lady Bucs' scoring with 29 points, with seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals, while knocking down five triples and shooting 69 percent from the floor. Her 29 points gave her a new career-high.
- Enochs and Brynne Lytle were the only other Lady Bucs to finish the game with double-digit points. Enochs finished the contest with 16 and Lytle tallied 13.
- The Chargers out-rebounded the Lady Bucs (43-30).
WHAT'S NEXT:
The Lady Bucs are scheduled to travel to face Union, on Thursday, Feb. 28. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. Union knocked off CBU 80-67 on Feb. 11.
