HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- The Christian Brothers University softball team combined for 26 runs and 26 hits in victories over Lincoln (Mo.) and Henderson State, on day one of the UAH Charger Chillout, on Friday at the Metroplex. CBU knocked off Lincoln 13-5 in the opener, and finished the night with a 13-6 win over HSU.
GAME 1: CBU 13 (1-4), Lincoln 5 (0-3)

GAME CHANGER:
- After scoring three runs in the opening frame, the Lady Bucs added five more in the fourth to help take an 8-2 lead. Â
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Lady Bucs outhit Lincoln 15-10.
- CBU capitalized on five Lincoln errors. Â

Maddi Welch, Ashley Dyer andÂ
Julia Schassburger lead the Lady Bucs with three RBIs apiece. Welch and
Rachel Whitley collected three hits apiece. Whitley also Â
 drove in a pair of runs.Â
- Eight different CBU players recorded hits.
- After reliving Whitley, who pitched two innings, Schassburger allowed four runs, three earned, in four innings to pick up the victory. Schassburger also added fiveÂ
 strikeouts.Â
KEY PLAYS:
- After leading off the game with a triple, Dyer scored on an RBI single by Welch. CBU added two more runs in the first, using a two-RBI double by Whitley.Â
- The Blue Tigers scored a pair of runs in the third, to get to within 3-2.Â
- CBU put up five runs in the fourth, to take an 8-2 lead. The two-RBI triple by Welch highlighted the inning.Â
- The Lady Bucs added two runs in the fifth and sixth innings and one in the seventh, to complete the scoring.Â

NOTEWORTHY:
- With its 15 hits, CBU tied for its most in a game since getting the same total against LeMoyne-Owen (3.21.18)
- Welch now has seven career three hit games, including two this season.Â
- The triple four Dyer was the first extra base hit of her collegiate career. A double by
Kendall Westbrooks was also her first career extra base hit.Â
- CBU struck out eight LU batters, which is its highest total of the season.Â

GAME CHANGER:
- The Lady Bucs took advantage of eight walks, including six in the 4-5 innings that saw them combine for eight runs.Â
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- CBU finished the game with an 11-10 advantage in hits.Â

Macy Cumming finished the game a perfect 4-for-4 with an RBI and four runs scored.
Katelyn Cherry finished 1-for-1 with four RBIs, two runs and three walks. Dyer, Â
 Welch and
Sierra Anderson all drove in two runs apiece.
- Cumming, who also started the game in the circle, allowed one earned run on three hits, in three innings. Anderson (1-0) allowed three runs on five hits, in 2.1
 innings, to earn the win in relief.Â
KEY PLAYS:
- Cherry laced a two-RBI triple, to left field, to give CBU a 2-1 lead in the second.Â
- The Lady Bucs capitalized on HSU mistakes to score four runs in the fourth and fifth innings. Of the eight runs, three came via walk and one on a hit by pitch. Just  Â
 one of the eight runs came via base hit.Â
- CBU added a run in the sixth and two in the seventh, while HSU scored one in the fifth, two in the sixth and one in the seventh to finish the scoring.Â
NOTEWORTHY:
- The 26 combined runs are the most for CBU since scoring 29 in back-to-back contests against LeMoyne-Owen in 2015.Â
- Anderson has reached base safely in all six games.Â
- The triple for Cherry marked her first career extra base hit.Â
- Welch has at least one RBI in four of the six games this season.Â
- The four hits by Cumming are the most by a CBU player this season.Â

- The Lady Bucs are scheduled to face Kentucky Wesleyan and Miles, on day two of the Charger Chillout. First pitch against KWC is scheduled for 3 p.m., while the Â
