Box Score 2 NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Trevecca Nazarene scored four runs in the first inning of the opener, and three in the bottom of the sixth, in the nightcap to earn a doubleheader sweep of the Christian Brothers University softball team, on Tuesday at the Trevecca Softball Complex.
GAME 1: Trevecca Nazarene 5 (17-9), CBU 2 (6-25)
GAME CHANGER:
- The Trojans scored four runs in the bottom of the first and held on for the win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Hawks finished the game with a 7-4 edge in hits.

Julia Schassburger allowed four runs, on three hits, in one inning of work.
Mackenzie Puckett surrendered just one run, on four hits, in five innings of relief.
KEY PLAYS:
- The Trojans plated four runs in the bottom of the first, capitalizing on three hits.
- TNU added its final run of the game, in the second, on an RBI single.
- CBU got back in the game, in the third, when Dyer's RBI triple scored
Marquisha Sanders and Welch had an RBI groundout.
- After scoring their first two runs, the Lady Bucs managed just two more hits the rest of the way.

- Dyer is now tied for the CBU single season record with seven triples.

- Up 2-1 in the sixth, TNU added three insurance runs.

- The Trojans outhit CBU 11-5.

Abby Ferreira led the Lady Bucs, going 2-for-2 at the plate.
- Welch drove in the lone CBU run.

Sierra Anderson allowed five runs, four earned, on 10 hits in five innings.
KEY PLAYS:
- Trailing 1-0 in the third, CBU tied the game at one, on an RBI single by Welch.
- After TNU took a 2-1 lead, in the fifth, it added three more insurance runs in the sixth.
- CBU recorded two hits in the seventh, but was unable to cut into the lead.

- The Lady are scheduled to return home on Thursday, March 28, when they will face West Alabama for a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
