MEMPHIS – Mississippi College used timely hitting, including 11 for extra bases in a doubleheader sweep of the Christian Brothers University softball team, on Saturday at Bland Field. MC took the opener 9-2 and the nightcap 19-0 in five innings.
GAME ONE: Mississippi College 9 (30-10, 12-7 GSC), CBU 2 (9-29, 1-18 GSC)

- In the second, MC sent 10 batters to the plate scoring five runs on six consecutive hits.

- The Lady Choctaws finished the game with an 11-4 edge in hits.

Mackenzie Puckett led CBU at the plate finishing 1-for-3 with a two-run home run.
- Three other players recorded hits for the Lady Bucs.
- MC pitchers Cori Cooper (5) and Maddi Lancaster combined for nine strikeouts.
- The Lady Bucs finished the game with eight runners left on base.

Sierra Anderson took the loss, allowing five runs, on five hits, in 1.1 innings.
Macy Cumming and
Rachel Whitley combined for 5.2 innings of relief. Whitley surrendered just one hit in three
innings of relief.
KEY PLAYS:
- The Lady Choctaws jumped out to a 1-0 lead, in the top of the first, on a solo home run by Alexia Harmon.
- The Lady Bucs responded in the bottom half of the inning when
Mackenzie Puckett smacked a two-run home run.
