MEMPHIS - The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs and Union University Lady Bulldogs played an evenly competitive match on Tuesday, in Canale Arena. Each set went down to the wire, but Union was able to come away with the 3-1 match victory.
CBU 1, UU 3 (25-16, 20-25, 17-25, 25-27)
WHAT HAPPENED: The Lady Bucs jumped out to a demanding 1-0 set lead, but the Lady Bulldogs battled back to tie things up at 1-1. The final two sets were a back-and-forth contest with Union edging out CBU in both to take the 3-1 match victory.
KEY STATS:
- Three different Lady Bucs finished the match with double digit kills. Emma Lenoir led the way with 14, Mollie Wadsworth finished with one less at 13, and Miaya Smith tallied 11. Alayna Maslinski and Meredith Hollinger almost made that list as they both finished with nine kills.
- UU barely edged out CBU in hitting percentage. UU recorded a .248 percentage as CBU hit .243 percent.
- The two setters for the Lady Bucs had a solid night as Maslinski recorded 27 assists, while Anna Graziosi tallied 16.
