CLEVELAND, Miss. - Nia Johnson hit a three point shot with 20 seconds left, in overtime, to give Delta State University an 89-87 win over the Christian Brothers University women's basketball team, on Saturday afternoon, at Walter Sillers Coliseum. The Lady Bucs narrowly missed their first victory in Cleveland in 24 tries.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After a closely contested first five minutes, the Lady Bucs led 11-10.
- CBU then went on a 12-5 run to extend their lead to 23-15, with 3:09 left in the opening quarter.
- A steal by Lauren Taylor lead to a three pointer, and a 28-23 lead for the Lady Bucs, after the opening quarter.
- With the exception of a tie at 37, the Lady Bucs lead for the entire second quarter, and took a 41-39 lead into halftime.
- A jumper by Julia Nicholson gave the Lady Bucs a 45-40 lead, with 7:50 left in the third, but DSU responded with a 13-4 run and took a 57-55 lead into the final quarter.
- Brynne Lytle knocked down a three pointer to put CBU up 71-70, with 4:18 left.
- DSU took a 78-74 lead with just 44 seconds left, but Lytle converted a pair of free throws on the other end.
- After Johnson made just one of two free throws, Lauren Taylor was fouled on a putback attempt. Her free throw tied the game at 79, with 15 seconds left.
- DSU failed to score on its final possession, sending the game to overtime.
- With 1:37 left, Darcy Doran knocked down a pair of free throws to tie the game at 85.
- After neither team was able to score, Johnson knocked down what proved to be the game-winner.
KEY STATS | NOTEABLES:
- CBU finished the game shooting 46 percent (27-of-59) from the floor, including 11-for-25 from long-range.
- DSU finished 31-for-71 from the floor (44 percent) and 11-of-30 from three point range.
- CBU was 20-for-24 from the free throw line.
- DSU entered the game as the best rebounding team in the Gulf South Conference, and finished the game with a 45-32 edge on the glass.

- Brynne Lytle led the Lady Bucs with 31 points. She was a perfect 9-of-9 from the free throw stripe.
- Lauren Taylor scored a career-high 24 points, going 5-of-11 from three point range. Taylor has scored a combined 44 points in the last two games.
