MEMPHIS - The Christian Brothers University women's basketball team had five players score in double figures, and scored at least 22 points in all four quarters, in a 96-72 victory over Shorter, on Thursday night at Canale Arena.
The 96 points by the Lady Bucs tied the modern day school record that was set against Wesley in 2008. CBU finished the game with 39 made field goals, which is the most in modern day school history. The previous record was 37, set in 2004 against Central Arkansas.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- CBU led by as many as nine points (20-11) in the first quarter, but the Hawks closed the gap to 22-21 after the opening 10 minutes.
- After Shorter took a brief 23-22 lead, the Lady Bucs went on a 16-2 run to take a 38-25 lead, with 4:25 left in the half.
- Shorter responded to cut the lead to 44-38, at the break.
- The Lady Bucs led by as many as 14 points in a third quarter that saw them increase the advantage to 70-58.
- CBU was able to pull away in the fourth quarter, shooting a scorching 10-for-13 (77 percent), while holding the visitors to just 5-of-23 (22 percent).
KEY STATS | NOTEABLES:
- CBU finished the game shooting a season high 56 percent (39-of-69) from the floor, including 8-for-18 from long-range.
- Shorter finished 27-for-79 from the floor (34 percent) and 14-of-32 from three point range.
- CBU was 10-for-11 from the free throw line.
- Brynne Lytle led the Lady Bucs with 28 points, on 12-of-22 shooting. She also tied a season high with 10 rebounds and four steals. Lytle has scored at least 24 points in eight of the last nine games.
- Darcy Doran pitched in a career-high 14 points, while Lauren Taylor added 19.
- Kelsey Adkins had 14 points and seven boards.
- Sydney Wilson rounded out the double figure scorers with 10 points.
- Taylor Williams tied a career-high with nine assists.
