No. 15 Union Uses Fast Start to Knock Off Lady Bucs

JACKSON, Tenn.- No. 15 Union University outscored the Christian Brothers University women's basketball team 18-7 in the first quarter, and did not look back, in a 65-45 victory, on Friday night, at the Fred DeLay Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
·      The first quarter was all Lady Bulldogs, as they jumped out to a 11-2 lead and held a 18-7         advantage going into the second quarter. 
·      Union led by as many as 16 points, in the second period, and lead 31-17 at halftime.
·      CBU kept pace with the Lady Bulldogs in the third quarter, as both teams scored 16 points. 
·      A three point shot at the horn gave Union a 47-33 lead after three quarters. 
·      Union outscored the Lady Bucs 18-12 in the final quarter. 

KEY STATS | NOTEABLES:
·      The 45 points were the fewest for CBU since scoring 43 in a 64-43 loss against North Alabama         (2.1.18).
·      The Lady Bucs finished the game 14-of-64 (22 percent) from the floor, and were just 4-of-26 (15         percent) from long range. 
·      CBU knocked down 13-of-14 (93 percent) from the free throw line. 
·      Union was 25-of-57 (44 percent) from the field, including 5-for-25 (20 percent) from beyond the         three point line. 
·      The Lady Bucs finished the game with a 49-42 advantage on the glass. 
·      Brynne Lytle finished with a team-high 17 points. 
·      Emily Jones finished the game with a double-double, chipping in 10 points and a game-high 14        rebounds in her collegiate basketball debut.

The Lady Bucs are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, Dec 12., visiting Union University in game two of the weekend double-header.
